Time offs are days and times that an employee is not able to work. This guide covers everything you need to know about managing time offs as an employee in ZoomShift.

Not all schedules have time offs enabled.
This is a setting that managers can change. If your schedule does not have time offs enabled you won’t be able to submit a time off request.
Requesting Time Off
To request time off just click on the Request Time Off button on your dashboard. You will then see a pop-up form like the one below.
When requesting time off you can decide whether the request is for the entire day or just part of the day. If the time off is for the entire day you can also set it to span multiple days. If you add a reason it will show on the time off so that managers know why you have requested off.
Once you submit the form you will notice that the time off request shows up on your schedule.
Waiting for Manager Approval
When you request time off it might not automatically get approved. Your manager may require that time off requests be approved first. If this is the case, the time off request will have an orange background initially. Until the request is approved it will be marked as pending and have the orange background. If you click on the time off request you can see the status of your request. Once a manager approves or denies your request you will receive a notification and the orange background will go away.
Not all schedules require manager approval for time off requests.
This is a setting that managers can change. If your schedule does not require approval for time offs then your request will be marked as approved right away.
Editing/Deleting a Time Off
To edit a time off you can just click on the time off. You will then see a pop-up like the one below. To edit the time off you can click the Edit button at the bottom of the pop-up.
If you want to delete the time off you can click the Delete button at the bottom of the pop-up.
Time offs may be locked once they are approved.
Managers have the ability to turn on a setting that will lock time offs once they are approved. If this is turned on then you won’t be able to delete your time offs after they get approved. Please contact your manager to delete the time off in this case.
