No matter how responsible your employees are it is inevitable that shifts will get missed. They may just forget about a shift or think that someone else is working. This is why we added the Shift Reminders add-on.
The Shift Reminders add-on allows you to schedule automatic reminders before a shift starts. This way your employees have no excuse for not knowing when they work. Most importantly, you will know before a shift starts if an employee can’t make it.
Not all schedules have shift reminders enabled.
In order for your employees to get shift reminders you will need to make sure that shift reminders add-on is enabled.
Configuring Shift Reminders
Once you have enabled the shift reminders add-on you can set up when you want reminders to be sent. We recommend sending reminders a couple hours before shifts start. However, you can set this to whatever you want.
All reminders are scheduled when you create or change a shift. As a result, if you change these settings they will not be applied to shifts that have already been created. If you would like to change the reminders for existing shifts you will need to republish them.
Changing Alert Settings
It is likely that your employees don’t want to get notified via email, text, and push notification about their shifts. They can always change their alert settings so they only get the notifications they want. You can check out this help guide for instructions on how your employees can update their alert settings.
